Racing Update – Two Podium Finishes for Glasswall’s Steve Roberts in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB

by | Jun 15, 2022 | Sponsorship, Events

Glasswall’s CFO/resident Racing Driver, Steve Roberts, enjoyed another strong weekend in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB for rounds 4 & 5 of the championship at the Thruxton Race Circuit in Hampshire. The races were held in front of tens of thousands of trackside spectators, as well as enjoying live ITV4 coverage, as support for the British Touring Car Championship.

Steve, who signed a late deal to join the championship earlier in the month, was up against it again at Thruxton, as there was zero practice time prior to Saturday’s qualifying session, which had been held earlier in the month prior to him joining the series. That did not deter his efforts though, as he qualified a strong 4th place, and followed that up with his first podium in Race 1 later in the day, finishing an excellent 3rd.

In Race 2 on Sunday he would go one better and crossed the finish line in an excellent 2nd place, after pressurising the leader throughout, narrowly missing out on victory by 0.6 seconds at the flag.

Talking to ITV’s Louise Goodman after the race, Steve commented: “I am over the moon to get this result today, especially considering the lack of track time I’ve had here. A big thank you has to go to Redline Racing for making the Glasswall Porsche so fast and allowing me to push. I’m certainly focused on going one better next time out!”

You can see Steve in action again at the Croft Race Circuit in North Yorkshire on June 25th/26th, where once again the Porsche race series will be supporting the British Touring Car Championship and enjoying live ITV4 coverage.
