Following an exciting season racing in the #Ginetta GT4 Supercup Championship last year, our very own CFO, Steve Roberts, is back in the driving seat, this time in the 2022 Porsche Visit Cayman Islands Sprint Challenge GB.
The series is made up of identical – and exhilarating – 425 hp 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport cars, meaning the difference between victory and defeat comes down to team preparation and driver performance. Taking place over 15 rounds alongside the British Touring Car Championship, it promises to be an exciting series.
Steve signed for the Redline Racing team immediately before the season got underway at the famous Silverstone circuit. Sporting the Glasswall livery, and having only completed three clear laps of testing prior to the weekend, he enjoyed a solid first weekend, scoring three fourth-placed finishes to see him sitting in fourth place in the early season standings.
Speaking at the end of the event, Steve said: “The team provided me with a great car and technical support to help me get up to a decent pace quickly and a very solid start to the season. We are now focused on finding race-winning pace and I’m looking forward to the next rounds.”
