On International Women’s Day 2023, Glasswall is celebrating the achievements of our female employees. Among our most significant and successful equality programmes is our Women in Tech (WIT) committee, which was launched in June last year. Made up of women from across the organization, it meets every month to discuss how they can excel in their roles, ensure their voices are heard and make a leading contribution toward company goals.
Among a growing range of significant initiatives, the WIT team has already increased collaboration between departments, boosted the sharing of professional networks, as well as implementing language improvements to reflect a more inclusive environment in job descriptions and company recruitment advertising. In addition, our WIT internship programme now provides on-the-job training and mentoring to female candidates looking to advance their careers in an industry where opportunities for women still lag behind their male counterparts.
Alyssa Jones, the first intern to take part in the programme, joined the Glasswall team in August 2022, and impressed everyone with her skills and work ethic. As a result, she was offered a permanent position as User Experience Designer at Glasswall, where she is responsible for creating an optimal experience for the user when they interact with our products, demonstrating the value and impact of the programme in attracting and retaining female talent.
Members of the WIT committee have also achieved a range of training qualifications and certifications this year, showcasing their expertise across technology, software testing and sales specialisms. These include Bhargavi Puli’s Microsoft Azure certification, Hope Busby-Saywood’s International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) qualification and Dennie Todorova’s Salesforce Business Analyst certification.
Most recently of all, Jenny Brown, our HR Adviser, was named Glasswall’s Employee of the Quarter. A member of the Glasswall team for over five years, Jenny has played a crucial role in ensuring everyone in the company gets the advice and support they need from day one.
